Train of Gear Wheels : For demonstrating the relationship
between velocity ratio and number of teeth. Three gear wheels, approximately

105.55 Wheel and Axle Compound : Made of cast aluminium alloy wheel 100 mm dia axle 50 mm and 25 mm dia, mounted on adjustable steel cones in steel frame, mounted on a wooden board with 4 holes for wall mounting complete with 5 meter Nylon cord and steel hook. 105.56
Double Cone on Ramp : The inclined plane consist of
two tapered slats conversing at their lower ends. When the double ended
cone roller is placed on the plane, it rolls towards the high end. Thus
the centre of mass of the roller is lowered as the roller moves "up" the
slope made of hardwood polished.
105.57 Projectile Apparatus : To illustrate that a body impelled horizontally will fall vertically at the same rate as a similar body allowed to fall freely. Comprises spring loaded, L section launcher with holes for locating two 19 mm dia steel balls which act as projectiles. Launcher is released by push button and projects one ball forward which allows the other to fall freely mounted on wooden block, 180 x 60 x 30 mm with storage pocket for balls. Complete with 2 steel balls. 105.58 Collision in Two Dimensional Kit : Curved ramps 260 x 325 mm. Length x radius with metal ball track, fitted to base 140 x 90 mm length x width, one adjustable ball supports, one clamp to fit slot on base of ramp. One plumb line assembly and 2 steel ball 12 mm dia. 105.59 Dynamic Trolleys : 300 mm long, metal reinforced at ends, having three low-loss bush bearing PVC wheels and fitted with spring-loaded impulse rod. Rod has three positions to provide different impulses and is triggered by a release pin. With removable metal pins at each end to enable trolleys or masses to be stacked or to provide anchoring points for accelerating cords. 105.60 Trolley Runway : This is designed to provide a smooth flat easily inclinable surface for dynamics experiments using trolleys. Ticker Tape Timer - A.C. : Operates on 12V A.C. The
timer employes electromagnet, with spring loaded armature which vibrates
above a support table for a carbon paper disc. Paper tape, drawn through
guides on the table, is struck by a dotting screw carried on the armature.
Additional with extra guides accommodate 4.5 mm external diameter rubber
tubing for the 'Pearls in air' water drop experiment. The peg on the support
table is movable to allow maximum use of carbon paper discs. Supplied with
90m roll of tape and carbon paper discs.
105.62 Ticker Tape Timer - D.C. : As similar to 52, but operates on 12V D.C. Produces dots at 1/50s intervals only. Spare Parts105.63 Elastic Cord with Eyelets : For accelerating dynamic trolleys. With a length of elastic cords wit brass eyelet at each end. In use cord is attached with the trolley by slipping one of the eye lets over the front dowel peg. (One or more cords may be used simultaneously depending upon the acceleration required.) Constant acceleration will arise if the cord is stretched a constant amount, say, to length of the trolley. The Cords are packed in tens mounted on a card for easy storage. Aluminium pulley 50 mm dia. clamp for vibrator and automatic pen release. Without pen and paper. 105.65 Inertia Bar : Discs at the ends are screwed and can be removed. Split chuck for clamping can be screwed in the middle of the bar or at either end. Length 25 cms. 105.66 Gyroscope : The brass wheel is 7.5 cm in dia 3 cm at its rim, carefully balanced and all three pair of pivots are adjustable. Turntable / Flywheel : The apparatus consists of a
circular wooden top 300 mm diameter and 12 mm thick attached to a strong
ball bearing spindle provided with a driving pulley, 80 mm diameter and
a support rod for mounting in a large tripod base or boss head.
105.69 Rotating Platform : Comprising a platform 310 x 310 mm. The large diameter bearing is designed to withstand off centre forces at the same time allowing free rotation. The base is fitted with anti-slip rubber feet. 105.70 Inclined Plane, Simple and Friction Board : A planed board, 600 x 75 mm, hinged to the base at one end and provided with a pulley for the force cord at the other. A movable block enables the inclination of the plane to be varied. The friction slide, 100 x 65 mm is reversible and has one side cut away for half its area. Complete with brass roller 75 x 25 mm diameter. Without masses or scale pan. 105.71 Inclined Plane : For experiments on sliding friction. Comprises inclined wood plane, 600 x 100 x 20 mm, with 22 mm diameter pulley, hinged to wood base, 450 x 100 x 20 mm. Linear scale fixed to edge of plane and vertical linear and 0 to 45° angular scales fixed to base with clamp, shaped for use as index. Inclined Plane : The apparatus comprises two wood
strips mounted on a heavy cast-iron base, friction reducing surface covers
the inclined plane. An adjusting clamp and 50 mm diameter pulley are provided
at the top of the incline and a linear scale is fixed to the side. A 0
to 45° angular scale is screwed to the base.

the relationship between friction and reaction. Kit comprises warp free
wood board, 760 x 150 x 20 mm thick, with steel eyellring in one end edge,
10 stainless steel rollers 190 mm long x 13 mm diameter, 4 wood blocks
230 x 115 x 20 mm thick, one of which has a steel eye in oneedge, and a
stout metal crank handle in a U shaped bracket, 90 x 50 mm to two board

105.74 Liver Simple Form : For introducing the concept of equilibrium leading to an appreciation of the principle of the beam balance. Consisting of a polished box wood rule 1m in length, divided in centimetres and millimetres on one edge, and inches and tenths on the other. Drilled every 2 cm. Lever Kit : To provide a simple 'See-Saw' for experiments
on balancing masses, leading to the principle of the lever. Also to show
that there is no net change in energy in the moving masses.
105.77 Microbalance Kit : A kit for eight students enabling each to build up a workable (Straw Beam) micro balance with which quite accurate weighings can be made. Contents :105.78 Inertia Balance : Comprises two metal trays. 130 x 55 x 23 mm joined together by a pair of spring steel strips 10 mm wide, the distance between the trays being 215 mm. One tray is drilled to hold three equal cylindrical masses. The other tray acts as an anchorage and may be clamped to the bench either horizontally or vertically. Complete with three masses and a 'G' clamp for mounting. 105.81 Kater Pendulum : A stainless steel rod 1200 mm long, 10 mm dia, with one pair each of small and large brass and ebonite masses, two steel knife edges set in adjustable metal holders and a metal bracket with holes for wall mounting. 105.82 At Wood Machine : This machine has brasspipe upright 240 cms (8 ft.) long graduated in cms. Metal fittings and arrangement for exact adjustment, vertical and horizontal. No dropping platform. Electric release weights start falling instantly circuit is broken. Wheel of aluminium 10 cms. 105.87 Hook's Law Apparatus : The apparatus consists of a 15 cm adjustable mirror scale mounted on a sturdy support 30 cm high, an adjustable hook and a spring with a weight hanger are attached to the top of the rod. A pointer is fastened to the weight hanger, 5 pieces of 50 g slotted weights are recommended for use with the apparatus. 105.88 Young's Modulus Apparatus : Searle's pattern. The instrument consisting of two frames connected by a link. The frames are fitted with self cenring chucks. An accurately graduated micrometer screw to read to 01 mm is fitted on one frame. One end of a sensitive spirit level is pivoted to one of the frame, the other end rests on the poins of a micrometer screw fitted in the other frame. The bubble of the level is adjusted to its zero mark and the reading of the micrometer observed. The load is then applied and by turning the micrometer screw the bubble is again adjusted to zero. The reading is observed and the difference between the reading gives the extension of the wire. Complete with chucks, ceiling attachment and tension weight. With case. 105.89 Young's Modulus Apparatus : Simple form but efficient. Consist of a brass scale 10 cms. long and vernier to read 1/10mm with V slides clamps, guides for wire ceiling attachment and tension weight. 105.90 Torsion Apparatus (Horizontal) : Searle's pattern, two cast iron feet each with 3 through holes and grub securing screws, separated by 2 supporting rods approximately 700 mm long one of which is graduated in cms and mms, wheel 165 mm dia, over groove moving in ball bearings, mounted on front foot, with spindle carrying split collect chuck for holding one end of test rod 55 cms long 5 mm dia, other end supported with clamping block through rear foot. With two aluminium scales graduated 30-0-30 in single degrees, mounted onpillar supports, which are adjustable along the rod, two pointers with clamp for attaching to specimen, one each of Brass and Steel rods, cord and hook for carrying masses but w/o weights. 105.91 Torsion Apparatus Vertical : It consists of a heavy mild steel frame mounted on a heavy trileg cast iron base. Upper end of the rod 900 mm length and 5 mm dia under test is clamped by a 3-jaw chuck and the lower end is clamped, into the axis of a torsion couple three metal circular scales graduated in single degrees which are free to slide on one of the graduated rod can be clamped at any position. Three pointers for clamping to the test rod are provided. It consists of a hollow brass tube graduated with scale divided in mms and with vernier to read 0.05mm. 40 cms.
